Members shared their varied experiences with sleep issues related to fibromyalgia, with some reporting insomnia as a long-standing problem that may or may not be directly connected to their diagnosis. Several members described managing sleep difficulties with medications like tramadol and melatonin, while others mentioned pain as the primary barrier to restful sleep, often waking every few hours or needing to get up and move to find relief. A recurring theme was the unpredictability of fibromyalgia symptoms, with some members sleeping well or napping regularly while others struggle nightly, highlighting that sleep disturbances are common but not universal in the fibromyalgia community.

Tramadol is a muscle relaxer n it really helps but I also take Melotonin, OVER THE COUNTRY W IT! If I dont,I don't sleep like now it's 4:18 am now BC I forgot n ran out of Melotonin! ♡

Same here, can't get to sleep. Every night. To be honest, there's days when my body needs it & I'll sleep until the afternoon hours. (My husband doesn't like it though). I don't do it on purpose. 😐
God Bless you.

I myself suspect I have sleep apnea in addition to being an insomniac. Whether they are Fibro related I'm uncertain but both have followed me my whole life. I'm waiting to partake in a sleep study for a proper diagnosis and hopefully relief! I can barely fall asleep and when I do it is a restless sleep.

Here in the US tramadol is no an opiate, it acts like one but isn't. I agree I don't think it is meant as a muscle relaxer but since it helps with pain then one might relax and therefore the muscles relax.https://www.myfibroteam.com/treatments
