Members shared a wide variety of medications they use for sleep challenges related to fibromyalgia and chronic pain, ranging from over-the-counter options like Benadryl, melatonin, and Nytol (valerian root) to prescription medications including Ambien, trazodone, zopiclone, Elavil, gabapentin, and various muscle relaxants and pain relievers taken at night. Several members described practical strategies such as combining medications for better results, using CBD oil, TENS machines, ice packs for comfort, listening to audiobooks or nature sounds, and seeking help from pain management clinics, with many noting that what works varies greatly from person to person. A recurring theme was the frustrating reality that even with medication, many still struggle to achieve restorative sleep, often waking frequently throughout the night or feeling groggy the next day, yet members encouraged each other to keep trying different approaches and leaning on faith and community for support through the exhausting cycle of pain and sleep deprivation.

I just got off the phone with my rheumatologist and she said I am not sleeping due to anxiety and she is putting me on remaron. she said it will take awhile to work but it is a hypnotic. She told me to still take my Ambien CR for a few months and stay on my Xanax. The ambien CR is not working anymore. She told me to come off my low dose wellbutrin and my low dose zoloft. I was bawling my eyes out cause I am so tired of pain and the inability to sleep like a normal person, it effects my entire life. Talk to your doctor please. We are sleep deprived and it is a wonder that we function at all. Love you (((hugs)))

I take zopiclone (sleeping tablets) which helps me sleep for a good 5-6 hours. I also have gabapentin but I only take them at night as they can make you drowsy too. Go and see your gp. Good luck xx
