On my most recent visit to pain management my doctor added a muscle relaxer called Skelaxin also known as Metaxalone 800mg, has anyone used this and how is it working for you?

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I took Skelaxin a very long time ago. But not very long. It "didn't do anything for me." Whatever *that was supposed to be. I have taken so many different pills for different things, I have to ask my husband if he knows "why" I stopped taking one. I take a 10 Mg. Baclofen at night. Also labeled as a "Muscle Relaxer." I don't know that it helps. Especially when STILL taking a prescribed sleeping pill every night. PLUS anti-seizure pills twice a day, Potassium, TWO 7.5Mg. Meloxicam. TWO 0.25Mg Ropinirole and once a week 50,000 IU's of Vitamin D-2. I hope the Skelaxin helps. Do keep us posted about it. God Bless.

I have not used that one. My pain management switch me from Baclofen to Soma. The Soma works much better and it helps to sleep a little bit more

Hello. I have tried an assortment of meds and doctors myself. I found the dr of my dreams. Shes helpful and has good bed-side manner. I am now on lyrica also known as pregablin. It works well for me. I was bed ridden with flare ups quite often and now not so much. I have talked with a lot of people that tried the lyrica and had bad affects from it. I was on skelaxin, flexerall, narcotics ( and now im addicted to them. ) So i had to try lots of meds to find what works best. I suggest that u keep a daily journal so u can go over it with your doctor. Also suggest that if you are not 100% satisfied with your doctor, that u find anither one. I got lucky when i found mine. Anyway i hope you are doing well. Take care.
