Members shared mixed experiences with acupuncture for fibromyalgia pain, with outcomes ranging from no relief at all to life-changing improvements that restored daily function and eliminated the need for medication. Several members emphasized the importance of finding a qualified practitioner experienced in treating fibromyalgia specifically, with one member crediting their acupuncturist as a true healer who helped them regain control over their pain. A recurring theme was that fibromyalgia treatments are highly individual, so while acupuncture may not work for everyone, it's worth trying since it's drug-free and painless, and many also found relief through alternative approaches like stretching exercises, TENS units, deep tissue massage, and pacing strategies learned in pain management courses.

I have acupuncture all along my spine and my hands. It doesn't help with the all the pain but it does seem to ease the pain in my legs and had reduced the severity of my headaches. The only problem is I need it once a week and GP will only refer for a 8 week course then I have to be re referred which leaves a gap in my treatment.

Anything is worth trying as different things suit different people.

Hello Sharla (love that name), I tried acupuncture and got no relief at all. I was/am in the "I'll try anything that helps!"Sadly it did nothing for me. The DR did say that a lot of Fibro patients get a lot of benefit from it, so I would hope maybe you are one of the lucky ones! I am new here, and just trying to figure out how this site works.
