Members shared mixed experiences with acupuncture for fibromyalgia pain, with the majority reporting that it provided no relief even after multiple sessions, and some found the needle placement itself to be painful. Several members highlighted the significant financial barrier, noting that acupuncture is expensive and often not covered by insurance, which prevented them from continuing treatment long enough to determine its effectiveness. A recurring theme was the importance of finding what works for your individual body, as one member did find relief when their insurance covered it, while others turned to more affordable alternatives like chiropractic care or acupressure.

Didn't help. My new chiropractor uses a device that separates the bones and is pain free. No rough manipulation at all.

Didn't help at all after many (expensive) sessions.

I did it and found no improvement. I tried it for quite some time because I mistook the “ups” in the up and down cycle of fibro as happening from accupuncture. But when I stopped nothing changed.

I tried it a couple of times but could not afford it and those couple of times I really could not tell if it did. Hugs and Prayers
