Hi guys, can you get, or should I say qualify for pip with fibro and everything else that comes with it like depression and anxiety?? Any advice would help calm my nerves as I have barely slept since. Thank… read more

Members offered support and practical guidance to someone worried about their PIP (Personal Independence Payment) assessment for fibromyalgia, depression, and anxiety, especially after feeling doubted by the assessor during a home visit. Several members emphasized the importance of gathering supportive medical documentation from specialists like rheumatologists and psychiatrists, seeking help from advocacy groups that fight for disability rights, and writing down symptoms and struggles beforehand to ensure nothing is forgotten during appointments or assessments. A recurring theme was that while the process can feel discouraging and assessors may seem skeptical, members are entitled to challenge unfavorable decisions, and being visibly unwell during the assessment may actually help demonstrate the severity of their condition.

I write down what I want to go over with doctors. my experience has always been you have a limited time frame for your doctors appointment. I found myself always forgetting to cover important things with the doctor. Writing things down works for me most of the time, unless of course I forget to take the paper with me to my office visit.

Yes you can. It probably helped you having a bad day. You get a copy of their report where the marks are so you can challenge the findings if it goes against you. Good luck.

I really feel for all of you who struggle to get Benefits for this cursed illness. When I was interviewed for Work Placement I was hyperventilating, physically shaking, in tears & a proper mess. I had to hang onto hubby as I could barely walk. So thankful the guy saw my need & put me on a Disability Pension. It got me through the 2yrs+till I was eligable for Age Pension. God was takung care of me, that's for sure. So much better these days but don't take that for granted either. God Bless you all. xx
