Members shared mixed experiences with Lyrica for fibromyalgia pain, with many noting it effectively reduced nerve and muscle pain but often came with significant side effects like drowsiness, insomnia, and weight gain ranging from 30 to 50 pounds. Several members described the medication as helpful initially, though some found its effectiveness decreased over time, while one member discovered only after stopping that Lyrica had been managing their pain better than they realized. A recurring theme was the challenge of balancing pain relief with side effects and insurance coverage, prompting members to explore alternatives like natural supplements, kinesiology, chiropractic care, or switching to medications like Cymbalta or tramadol.

I couldnt sleep for days, not even with my sleeping pills, while on it. I stopped taking it the 2nd week. Value the sleep I do get.

When I was put on Lyrica it really helped get rid of my nerve pain. However, I also gained 30 pounds in about a month. But everyone reacts different and when it comes to excruciating daily pain, try until you find something that works for you. Good luck hun.

@Fibomate the same thing happened with me n tramadol. I thought it wasnt working for me anymore. I told my dr I wanted to try something else. When I weaned off, I realized how much it was working, n went back on.

Well I guess I might have to backtrack my answer!! I have been off the Lyrica for a week now and my pain is the worst it's been in a year and a half!! I didn't think Lyrica was doing anything for me anymore but maybe it was?? I will be visiting my doctor tomorrow to see if he thinks I should start it up again! I absolutely hate life like this!!
