I don't know what it is about being in the car but my back pain is unbearable. I either put an umbrella horizontally behind my back or my husband puts his arm there for me to lean on. I'm ok for the first 15 min or so but then it's all I can do to not pull over sometimes.

Yes. Sometimes I did. But my fibro is very mananged.
That's very common for me! I'm always best if I am sitting on a hard surface!!!
Driving kills me too. I drive a standard transmission, I'm thinking (sadly) I should get an automatic! My job had a 1 hr commute each way. I'm off on sick leave right now, but if I can work again, it won't include a commute like that!
Yes! Last year I coulddrive with 20 mins before I was in pain! My OT checked to make sure my seat was in a good position. Not too close to steering wheel etc. She recommended I roll a towel up, sorta like a snail looks.Have part of it unrolled amd sit on it and then the rolled part where my lower back is. I have since got a back support thing which has helped!
Arggg lenni! That is such a drag. Driving can be so important for maintaining independence when it hurts to walk.
