Does anyone have pain in the neck? It's not a shooting pain but more of a tightness. The pain moves down the not of my spine whenever I bend my neck. Even while driving, it hurts to turn my neck. Any suggestions?

Members connected over shared experiences with persistent neck pain and tightness that interferes with daily activities like driving, with many describing it as the starting point of their fibromyalgia journey. Several members shared practical relief strategies that have worked for them, including heat and ice packs, TENS units, Biofreeze or CBD creams, memory foam pillows, gentle massage, chiropractic care, and stretching exercises. A recurring theme was that while complete relief is rare, combining multiple approaches provides the best management, with some members finding significant help from muscle relaxers, cervical braces for driving, or anti-inflammatory treatments like prednisone.

when i hold my head down it feels like it is pulling my spine up.. I have to often rotate my head just to adjust my neck and spine. I can not go straight down with my head but around and down. If I do not take any meds than my neck will tighten up and i will be locked inside unable to turn left or right up or down. What I find that helps is resting it. I use an ice pack and extra strength bengay and massage it gently in a circle for temporary relief. This was the general start of my fibromyalgia 3 years ago and it has never gone away. Soft Hugs

I hope you feel better soon. That's how my story started. I still use my neck brace to drive sometimes in the winter. Around the house I like it as well to hold my hot or cold compress. Stretching exercises are important. What helps my neck a lot is tens therapy unit after that I apply some cbd cream that works very good.

I use heat and it helps. I have a rice bag that I put in the microwave and pit it on my neck.

Yes, I was having that same issue until I had an MRI done a couple weeks ago and the doctor determined my verberate c7 and c8 are bulged due to inflammation.
