Pain management started me on 10mg Amitriptyline at bedtime today. Just curious if anyone is on it or has tried it. She said she hopes it helps to give me more restorative sleep so that my pain might lessen.

Everyone reacts differently to medications so I would perhaps try it to see if it works for you. I do believe we need that restorative sleep to lessen the pain. Also if you don't sleep well then you tend to stress more easily and that also causes pain.

I was on antryptline started on one 10mg and then upped every week until 40mg a night it kept me up all night and done the complete opposite to what it should do. You should take it 2 hours before bedtime and see how you get on it effects people differently I'm now on nortyptyline which is in the same family but works better for me. Hopefully it works for you but I also had really bad nightmares on amtryptline x

Gotcha, well I definitely hope it helps even 50% of your pain. My new meds are helping and not helping if that makes sense, I take them at 630am and cant again until 630 pm. They wear off about 3pm so im fatigued and hurting waiting on 630pm. Its worth it to me though, I know our bodies must adjust and that can take 2 weeks or more. πŸ‘πŸ€

I took it at 9pm and woke up at 8 on a weekend morning. I felt tired the entire day, not just the morning.
