It seems I have noticed that everytime I have a flare up I get really bad flu like symptoms. Like for eg swollen glands, soar throat, stuffy nose, bloked ears etc etc on top of worsened other symptoms. Does this happen to anyone else??? Thanks

Members overwhelmingly confirmed experiencing flu-like symptoms during fibromyalgia flare-ups, describing body aches, temperature dysregulation, swollen glands, sore throats, headaches, and extreme fatigue that often leave them bedridden for days. Several members shared helpful strategies including gentle water therapy in warm pools, taking vitamin D supplements, carefully managing energy reserves, using high SPF sunscreen to avoid sun-triggered flares, and finding specialized gym programs with air-dynamic equipment for low-impact exercise. A recurring theme was the relief of finally understanding that these symptoms were fibromyalgia flares rather than repeated viral infections, with many expressing frustration over the debilitating cycle while finding validation in knowing others share the same confusing and exhausting experiences.

You guys explain exactly how I get with flare ups. Usually a lot more achy, super sensitive to light, smells and noise and headaches. I have noticed my temperature goes all over the place as well like I'll be hot one minute and cold the next. Most annoying. Thanks guys it's nice knowing not the only one with a crazy body

Every symptom gets amplified X10. Usually aches and pain are around 2 or 3. When I get a flare up, it goes to a 6 or 7...terrible muscle achiness, sore all over my body, my muscles get very weak...I have difficulty lifting my arms and even my legs feel like they weigh ten times as much. Sounds are louder, I get terrible tinnitus, brain fog is worse, so so sleepy, and my temperature goes up and down. I am cold a lot but sometimes I overheat, but mostly I get the chills. That is usually the time when if I push myself too much, my muscles will just wear out, get shaky, and if I keep pushing, I will just collapse. ....For example...I am coming off a flare up right now. Still have it a bit...and I had to come back into this post and edit it for misspelling. I am a very good speller. I spelled weigh "way". That is a BAD spelling mistake. Not one I would normally make. Fibro fog.

Yes. I have runny nose, ear, neck and horrible headache. Almost feels like sinus infection but my knees and shoulders hurt and arm muscles and my hands itch and swell. I'm so tired but I'm always tired!

I get exactly the same symptoms. Just feel wiped out and it takes time to recover. So frustrating living in this constant cycle, I dream of my old life now.
