I've had multiple. I won't have anything really stressful going on and I start to have panic attacks. I do have medical grade anxiety and its extremely exhausting trying to prevent them. If I feel one coming on, I have to just relax, stop thinking of anything negative and usually listen to music that makes me happy.
I understand that panic attacks are very unpleasant, have had a few brief ones myself, but the key thing is to try not to get trapped into the cycle of fearing the panic attack so much that it can become the issue as much as having them. If one tries to avoid something it makes it worse in our mind. It must be hard to but if you can try to "ride them out like a wave" they can become less strong the next time, I didnt know this when I had mine so I couldnt try to use the technique, so apologies if it doesnt suit some :)
I had panic attacks. I could not accept the hospitals diagnosis/ Why would I wake from a sound dreamless sleep to have a full blown attack. I thought I was having a fit. This happened in the middle os the night and as I was alone the ambulance took me to hospital I had been diagnosed with fibro by then although I had had it for many years prior. Very little was known then and the attacks were not known to be related to fibro/ The doctor said I was not to be alone. So began my nursing home life. I have many times felt the shaking inside feeling which came prior but it did not go on to a panic attack. Very frightening I was roaring uncontralably like a bull. It is only very recently I have learned that panic attacks can be related fibro
Yes! I have woken in the middle of the night. I have been just sitting here and go into a bad one. Had to even call my husband home from work.
