Members shared experiences about leg numbness and pain that worsens during sleep, with many describing similar symptoms including restless leg syndrome, tingling sensations, hip pain, and numbness that extends to arms and feet. Several members offered practical strategies including magnesium supplements or Epsom salt baths, gabapentin or Requip for restless legs, gentle stretching or yoga before bed, heat packs on the lower back, memory foam toppers, and sleeping with pillows between knees to improve circulation. A recurring theme was the importance of discussing symptoms with doctors to rule out other causes like nerve damage or spinal issues, while also validating that these symptoms are commonly part of fibromyalgia and managing them requires patience, self-advocacy, and finding the right combination of treatments that work for each individual.

Yes, my hands and feet both go numb. like they are asleep. This happens while I am standing, walking, or using my hands/feet. Asked my Dr. about it-He said it is part of the Fibro. Where the muscles are so tight they are not letting the blood flow properly.

I use crutches on days when I'm feeling wobbly as due to my osteoarthritis i can only use a cane on one side which isn't useful when both legs don't want to do as I want them to. I've almost kicked one of my crutches when my leg decided it was going to thrash about, it was for a mere moment but it scared me that much that I now struggle to get out regularly especially if I need to get anything as i haven't mastered pushing a trolley whilst using crutches (there's got to be a way). I've also started having certain must learn groups feel like they are frozen as if i were pushing the muscle directly on a block of dry ice. I hope this doesn't scare you. Just expect to rarely feel normal unless you are one of the lucky ones who are helped by their meds.

My son is getting me a piece of exercise equipment that i hope will enable me to tone up and strengthen my core to better support myself and hopefully aid with reducing pain by keeping all muscle groups active. If it works i will let everyone know.

Gentle hugs x

Lately my problems have been more with restless legs and pain in my feet and legs. I move my legs and feet so much even in my sleep that I wake up to them sore and hurting from how much I have curled my toes and moved my legs up and down. I do get numbness but typically that's when I'm setting or walking. When that happens I'm likely to lose feeling entirely and that's why I have to walk with a cane now. Wishing you the very best!
