What does it mean when the pain in legs are so bad that you have never experienced in your life.

Prevention: Magnesium, potassium...eat a banana, tonic water with quinine...about 4 oz daily.

In the moment: When muscle spasm hits, find the center of the muscle. Use heel of your hand, or thumbs if necessary, to apply firm sustained pressure. This confuses the sensory input process and forces muscle to relax. Hold for at least a minute, or until spasm subsides. Add heat, then stretch.

If you stretch daily, awesome. If not, start stretching those muscles out 5 mins at a time, 3 or more times a day.

Muscle spasms to me .......Well I have RLS as well as Fibromyalgia and they are two separate types of muscle spasms! RLS I cannot stand keeping legs still, have to wriggle around with legs as nothing else really works the meds ease for sure but far from take it away!! Muscle spasms I personally experience with FM are more intense, like wringing out a cloth. I feel like my muscles are being wrung out! But also, one of the first things I told doctor when first diagnosed RLS was that I felt like I had flu but without the runny nose etc.....these severe very intense aches/discomfort were just like Flu aches/pains but 100 times worse/intensified!! It is absolute hell! I have fought a lot of illnesses in my time (currently have 10 diagnosis') but Fibromyalgia and RLS, more fibro though, they are in a league of there own!! I have tried fighting it for last 4 plus years and I am finding it very hard nigh on impossible to even accept it never mind beat it, I need to learn to live alongside it otherwise it will forever define me and that I refuse to accept and or allow!

Have you tried magnesium? That's what my doctor recommended for spasms of my arteries but works equally well for muscle spasms. Hope this helps. Gentle hugs.

Muscle cramps are also a sign of low potassium, and bananas or potatoes are natural sources
