With all my research I found a study by Dr. William Pridgen and Virologist Carol Duffy PHD. They are in the final phase of there study to prove that there is a direct link between the herpes virus and Fibro. I have been on immuno-supperssant drugs because of breast CA. I have not recovered from it for 4 and a half years. The symptoms of shingles mimic fibro symptoms. Brain fog, pain, extreme fatigue etc. I have had a rash but not one of the specialist that I have seen would even look at… read more

Members exchanged hopeful experiences about antiviral treatment for fibromyalgia, particularly after one member shared research linking the herpes virus to fibro symptoms and their upcoming appointment with an infectious disease specialist. Several members described consulting with Dr. Dantini, who tests for elevated viral titers like EBV and Parvovirus and prescribes protocols combining antivirals like Valtrex with immune-boosting supplements such as L-lysine, medicinal mushrooms, and curcumin, with one member reporting a 70% success rate claim. A recurring theme was cautious optimism about finding relief through this approach, concern about being prescribed too many immunosuppressants by various specialists, and the importance of boosting the immune system while keeping viral flares in check to make daily life more bearable.

Well, I want to give an update. I had two consults with Dr. Dantini. He ordered the viral testing on me, and I was elevated in regard to EBV and super elevated in regard to Parvovirus (which I had no idea humans could get). My doctor here took Dr. Dantini's protocol suggestion and prescribed Valtrex 3 times a day for the next 3 months. I was told to take that with L-lysine, medicinal mushrooms, beta glucan, d-ribose, and curcumin. Believing for good results!

I have a phone consult next week with a Dr. Dantini in Palm Coast, Florida. He has been testing and treating fibro patients for years with antivirals. I believe he boasts a 70% success rate. You can go to www.4fibromyalgia.com for more information.

I should mention his staff told me to boost my immune system any way I can as that will aid the process. He will consult with me, they said, and if my symptoms line up with what he knows fibro to be, he will order viral titers to see if any are elevated in me. They also do extensive food allergy tests.

Yes, of course, I sure will. I ran a low grade fever for almost 4 weeks before my first symptoms. My instinct told me I must have been fighting something. I googled if there was link between fibro and viruses like herpes or ebv and came across Dr. Dantini. I will post how it goes.

Missa Please let me know how you make out. Keeping the virus in check is the key. You may still have symptoms but not severe like I have been. They say antivirals and celebrex is the combination to make normal life bearable. It makes sense to me, with fibro we have flare ups and with shingles you also have flare ups.
