Have you been treated with methotrexate and it help with your pain and or improved your mobility?
I took methotrexate in pill and then injection form. It affected my liver and i had to stop. I am now on Imuran, lyrica, cymbalta, plaquenil, b6 and zanaflex. The addition of zanaflex made all the difference in the world. Im working full time and pain is rare anymore.
I was treated with methotrexate and it affected my liver after 2 doses. I had to stop it. But that's just my body. Your doctor has to follow you with blood work after you start it.
I'm talking methotrexate now, for about 6 months. I get tested once a month. I haven't had any problems so far. I recently started taking Enbrel. I just started my 3rd month. My fingers don't hurt as much.
I saw a naturalist Dr on the Monday afternoon. He is very upset about what is actually going on inside my body! He was shaking his head and pacing then rubbing his neck and shaking his head was th years in his eyes ordering more tests. And over and over kept saying none of this issues makes sense. And said that he does not understand why steroids and methotrexate lower down my pain level way down. And said that Tramadol for fibromyalgia does not make sense. And he muttered I hope I am wrong
@A MyFibroTeam Member......I have been on Methotrexate for many years for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. I take 6 tablets once a week. I haven't had any serious side-effects. I take it along with two other medications to treat my arthritis.
I can certainly understand your frustration and I hope you can get some answers and get on the right treatment plan.
Hugs
