Members shared their experiences with weight loss while managing fibromyalgia, with many describing how medications like Gabapentin and limited mobility contribute to weight gain, though several found success through programs like Slimming World, cutting sugar and carbs, and drinking lots of water. Several members emphasized practical strategies including chair exercises for those with mobility challenges, diabetic-friendly recipes, eliminating sugary drinks, healthy snacking on fruit and breadsticks, and finding small ways to stay active like dancing to music or short walks. A recurring theme was shifting from restrictive diets to sustainable healthy lifestyle changes, with many members encouraging self-compassion and celebrating small victories while acknowledging the unique challenges of losing weight with chronic illness.

I agree to focus on healthy living! I recently gained like 10 lbs due to flare up and inactivity . I realized I was drinking lots of sugar drinks to avoid caffeine and cut those out, lost 4 lbs. Trying iced tea (decaf). Also trying to go for a walk, no matter how short, to move a bit more. Good luck, it is doable, just a bit harder for us.

Same here, it’s so hard to lose but I keep trying. Don’t give up, i lose and gain😫 I weigh myself every other day. Sometimes I didn’t gain nor I didn’t lose a pound. I look back to what did I do wrong. Fix the snacking and I lost 12 pounds finally, and that’s from eating healthy, no snacking and tons of water. I may have 40 more to go and I go every morning for swimming 🏊🏼‍♀️ aerobics. But I’ll keep going forward and pray not to go backwards 🙌🏻

I struggle to lose weight with fibromyalgia due to medication and lack of exercise. I can't exercise much due to pain. I am trying hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle. But no easy with working full-time and parenting young kids.
