Definitely not alone! However, I was over weight by atleast 50+ even after I had my son! Once the hormones from being pregnant wore off it seemed as if I were extra sensitive to any and everything! I tried working out and it seemed worse BUT I knew I had to get this weight off so I started with just walking..then increases with that then home work outs and eventually gym time! Before I knew it I was able to withstand going 5 days a wk and am hoping to compete in my first Body building show! It's very hard, frustrating and painful but my son is my inspiration to keep going! Obviously on flare ups I don't do as much or even go but I get back in there!! Stay positive!!
Exercise has proven to be difficult to me as well. I always enjoyed exercise. I've always played sports year round, running, hiking, canoeing, and yoga. Since my onset of fibro, I've found all of the things I've loved to do extremely painful. My doctor suggested water aerobics in a heated pool. I recently found one near me and went to class once. It was difficult, but I got through it and wasn't in as much pain or as sore as I would be with any other type of exercise. I think it is working well for me and I will be continuing to go 2-3 times per week
I'm with you on this issue !!! I also deal with balance & motor coordination issues, (due to having strokes), type 2 diabetes, degerative arthritis everywhere. Also just found out from my rheumatologist that L2,3,4 disks in my lower back are all pretty well gone. Exercise is supposed to help a lot of these other issues but with the fibromyalgia flares it makes it so painful. I'm going to try taking my pain med about an hour before I go to the ymca to get in the pool and the stationary bike and see if that helps any. Then will soak in the hot Jacuzzi until I'm a prune, then go home. I will let you know if this helps witj tje pain.

I was on a high dose, from my liver doctor and when I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia, my rheumatologist put me on a higher doses. I've only been on pres. for a yr, but to be honest I should take it, I don't lolbvs I've winged myself off slowly! I have been doing so gd, especially since I take aza anyway! I also read stories of people that has fibromyalgia and take pres. it makes there symptoms worse! To each their own, dealing with pain is different in everyone. I just had to do something being my heaviest weight and having your doctor tell you, you should look into weight loss surgery!!! No, ma'am!!! This weight must go!!! Good luck to you
My husband is in a lot of chronic pain also with a bad back, leg and arm (He has broke his back 3 times and is lucky he is walking) He seems to understand that I'm in pain but blows it off some times. I try to explain it to him and he doesn't seem to get it sometimes just as i don't get his some times. Pain is a hard thing to describe , yea you can give it a number from 1 -10 but with fibro you can't discribe it as a sharp, dull, numbing or whatever name you've got for pain types. I wish the doctors would get that. The say excercise it will make you feel better - sometimes I wonder if the people in the Health Industry will ever understand how we feel. Sorry got on my soap opera box. I understandabout the weight gain too.
