I'm currently on the 9th day out of 10 of coming off Gabapentin before starting a new set of medication.

Has anyone had withdrawal symptoms from it before?

I feel so ill right now. Very emotional and frustrated.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Members responded with empathy and solidarity to someone experiencing withdrawal symptoms after tapering off Gabapentin over nine days, with many validating that emotional distress, weakness, and difficulty with speech are common during medication transitions. Several members shared their own difficult withdrawal experiences from various medications, emphasizing that ten days can sometimes be too short a tapering period and that doctors should provide clearer guidance on what to expect during the process. A recurring theme was leaning on faith, prayer, and community support while navigating the challenging physical and emotional effects of coming off medication.

Thanks everyone. I was told to take 7-10 days to completely come of it, wasn't really told of the effects. Unfortunately I've had a nasty reaction to codiene and been very poorly since Sunday.

Recovering at home but feel very weak.

Thank you for your advice and comments.

Hi @A MyFibroTeam Member
I've been off work all week, it was a mixture of coming off my tablets and nasty reaction to codiene and a viral infection.

I am now fully recovered from that but the fibro is being a bitch today haha.

Hope you are ok xxxx

Withdrawals are a bitch, I found lorazepam the absolute worst for withdrawals. Sometimes you have to taper off the meds for a lot longer than 10 days...
