Doctor prescribed me Gabapentin. I figured it would be best to ask around and do some research first. What is your experience with Gabapentin? Also, if you experienced side effects, did the results outweigh the side effects?

Members shared mixed experiences with gabapentin for fibromyalgia pain, with many reporting that it helped manage their symptoms but often came with challenging side effects like weight gain, fatigue, swelling, and digestive issues. Several members emphasized the importance of finding the right dosage through careful adjustment, noting that some found relief at higher doses while others couldn't tolerate increases, and a few warned about difficult withdrawal symptoms if doses are missed. A recurring theme was that everyone responds differently to the medication, with some members finding it life-changing while others experienced worsening mood or had better results switching to alternatives like Lyrica or stopping medications altogether in favor of minimal pain relief as needed.

Word of advice, try not to miss a dose or be late in taking it. The withdrawal effects are horrendous. That's if you decide to take it. I have been on Gabapentin for about 5 years now. Hope this advice helps. xx

I had gabapentin and it was a miracle to start with but after 6 months I felt far worse taking all the meds so I ditched the lot one day and only use cocodamol now when I really have to. All those chemicals in meds didn't work for me but everyone is different so I'd say see how you go. Xx
