Members shared a wide variety of approaches to managing insomnia, with the most commonly mentioned remedies being melatonin and magnesium, which many found helpful for falling and staying asleep, while others relied on prescription medications like Trazodone, Amitriptyline, Ambien, and Lunesta with mixed results. Several members described combining multiple strategies including natural supplements like valerian root and lemon balm, herbal teas with chamomile, relaxation techniques such as meditation and guided sleep videos, and even getting a companion dog. A recurring theme was the frustration of severe sleep deprivation, with many members averaging only three to four hours per night due to chronic pain, and the ongoing trial-and-error journey to find what works for each individual body.

Also, I used sleepy time tea for many years. It relaxes you just enough to fall asleep. My problem is I can't stay asleep. You can get the tea at a grocery store. I think they even have extra strength sleepy time tea!

@A MyFibroTeam Member Hi I'd like to say that magnesium has helped me more than the sleep aids . I take magnesium a couple hours to an hour before bed. All sleep aids over time did not work as well for me or were counter productive. As to how much? Get a good quality source and use as much as needed. If you overdo all that will happen is loose stool or some diarrhea . Just ease back.
Honey, it is not ideal, I won't lie to you, but it is better than putting crap in your body that could hurt you.
I wish you pleasant nights with better sleep. ((Hugs))
