I am just out the navy and diagnosed fibromyalgia 6months ago been having symptoms for 4 years but only just diagnosed
What aids will help me around the house and general day to day
I can't walk far 50-60m most
Can't lift much
Can't lift arms most days
Neck back and hips also big problem each day
And yes I have stairs
As I said new to this as only recently diagnosed but need help

Some of the shower chairs have a transfer bench connected so u can sit down on the bench outside of the tub and then scoot yourself into the tub
So sorry you are having all of these issues. We all know how you feel so just keep the comments and questions coming. You will get a lot of great advice.
I am a nurse also and worked in home health for a few years. If your doctor will sign off for you to have some home health, I would recommend having an aide coming into your home three days a week. He or she can help you with bathing, light housework, and light meals. They are trained to keep your house safe and to keep you safe so they will evaluate safety issues in your house and make suggestions to help you improve your quality of life. You could also be assigned an occupational therapist to teach you different ways of doing things that will help you with your day to day activities. Plus, you can look forward to having company coming over to keep you socialized. Maybe that sounds weird but it's really important to combat depression.
I know it's hard to ask for help but we all need it from time to time. And I'm sure you have helped your share in your life. Please don't give up. Keep searching for answers and you will find something that works.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. So sorry you are struggling a lot. Occupational health therapist will have some great ideas. They may suggest a cane or walker maybe a long gripper device to reach things from the floor, etc.
they may also suggest a shower chair/ removable shower head to help with bathing. Just some thoughts from a nurse. ☺
@A MyFibroTeam Member I contacted my housing association after my diagnosis requesting a level access shower. They put me in touch with Adult Community Care who made an appointment to visit my house to assess me and the house.. It was agreed that I could have the shower room, extra stair handles, commode, etc,. They were very helpful. Hope you get the help you need.. Gentle hugs..
