Members shared deeply relatable experiences about struggling with housework while managing chronic illness, with many describing how they've adapted by breaking tasks into small stages, resting frequently between efforts, and sometimes sitting on the floor to complete chores like vacuuming or mopping. Several members offered practical solutions that have helped them, including buying a second vacuum for upstairs to avoid lifting, hiring a cleaner for heavy tasks when possible, delegating age-appropriate chores to family members, downsizing to a smaller home, and using tools like microfiber cloths to reduce scrubbing effort. A recurring theme was the importance of self-compassion, with many encouraging each other to let go of guilt, remember that visitors come to see them not their homes, do only what they can on good days, and celebrate small accomplishments rather than focusing on what couldn't be done.

Im like that what i do is i only do housework on my good days, even then it i do something then i sit down for half an hour then i do a bit more, i do it in moderation, i start with the most needed then i work my way down the jobs, i never do all of them on the same day, as rest is very important to us who are suffering, i hope this helps.

MY doctor gave me a great rule to live by ... on a good day do what you can but don't overdo it .... on a bad day just move around a little ... if things don't get done so be it ....
Never be ashamed of people coming to visit you when things are not done .... if they truly care about you ... they come to see you not your mess ... and they will understand .. take care

I feel like a bad wife wen I don't get all I want done. but my hubby is extremely patient and understanding with me (I am very blessed) so do wut u can girl! try not to get down on yourself and be sure to rest and do anything special for yourself that helps you feel good! I notice that wen I'm happy, the pain is easier to deal with.

I did the same Hun, bought a second Hoover for upstairs and it made a massive difference not only physically but mentally as I didn't have to ask for help off my hubby to take it upstairs xx
