Does anyone find that when you're talking to a friend you completely blank them out and have no idea what they are talking about. This happened
to me a couple of times, I'm listening to them and then it's like I lost time and have no idea anymore what they said.

Members connected deeply over the experience of blanking out during conversations, describing it as fibro fog, a cognitive symptom where they lose track of what's being said, forget mid-sentence what they were talking about, or struggle to process words in real time. Several members shared strategies including asking people to repeat themselves without embarrassment, using humor by calling it a "brain fart" or saying their "brain took a short nap," writing things down, and being upfront about having fibromyalgia to help others understand. A recurring theme was the isolation and anxiety this symptom creates, especially in social settings or at work, with many members admitting they stay home more often, avoid crowds, or have lost friendships because the struggle to focus and remember makes them feel embarrassed, misunderstood, or like a burden.

My short term memory is terrible too. Alot well most of the time I can't think of the word I'm looking for. I know what I want to say but just can't find that one word. I know all the old actors/actresses and now I have
a hard time remembering. Drives me nut. oh well such is life with fibro

Yes, yes, yes !!!! I'm finally able to laugh at it and tell people "I'm having a senior moment"! They don't know any different, why should I clue them in on the truth ☺

Yes, frequantlyI frequently.I guess that's why I don't go around people that mainly aren't family.I also get my words changed around like dyslexia which I just started within the last year.Believe it or not, I even had an MRI of my brain to make sure I didn't have a stroke. It came out normal.I think also due to anxiety that I speak faster than my brain if that makes any sense. It's difficult at times but it's just another one of those things I have to accept and deal with.I also have a poor short term memory and names I just can't remember.

All the time. I've been known to fall asleep while I'm on the phone to someone! ... While they in the room as well! Half the time I can't remember what I've said never mind anyone else. Keep going the best you can. I find most friends are sympathetic xx

Hi,I find this is worse when in a group of people. I can follow the conversation for a while but then my brain gets weary and can't keep up.I can see mouths moving and faces looking at me but the language may as well be foreign.
At this point I'm actually grateful for bladder problems and make my excuses to leave.
