Is anyone else dealing with difficulty speaking? I have recently (within the last month) have been battling cognitive and speech issues. I stumble on words, can not think of words, say different words than what I think. I have recently started to stutter, which I never had problems with.

I find that I am losing my vocabulary...I can picture something or someone in my mind, but there is a complete blank when I try to identify what I want to say... It's annoying and scary!! I have chalked it up to fibro fog...
Yes, me too. I have noticed this progressing over the past couple years...sometimes almost a stutter, loss of vocabulary, drawing a blank in the middle of explaining something, ...I agree with aspark99...it is scary and annoying and I tell my self it is fibro fog.
I come out with different words than I want to say
I have this problem all the time. I will use the wrong word in a sentence or forget what I am trying to say altogether. I get very embarrassed because most people tell me I am an intelligent and well spoken person; so to go from that to stuttering and calling the coffee a cantaloupe can be a huge blow to your self esteem! What I have done is tried to just be aware of how I am feeling everyday and letting people know - WE MUST ADVOCATE FOR AWARENESS! If our family members, friends and even our co-workers are not given information so that they can also cope with our changing bodies then EVERYONE gets frustrated. I have found that with more information not only am I more patient with myself but so are other people.....Since this is unfortunately a symptom of an incurable dis.ease that we did not ask to have we just have to make the most of it and I find that the best thing I can do is laugh when I feel like crying and if I absolutely CAN NOT laugh then I just let the tears flow. DON'T BE HARD ON YOURSELF and anyone who makes you feel unlovable or like a burden because of your illness needs to be removed from your life immediately! you tell them to #KICKROCKS #LOVEASPOONIEMOVEMENT
Hope this is helpful and encouraging <3 Ms. Mighty
I have a stutter anyway but since I have had fibro I have noticed that some days my stutter is really bad, I try to take my time when speaking but it doesn't make any difference, I just have to suck it up and hope that tomorrow is a better day!
