Well we talked about it and he doesn't feel it is the meds. The Nuvigil is to keep you awake and so doubts it has anything to do with weight gain. He hasn't heard of Gabapentin causing weight gain and I didn't see anything about it online. I told him I am only taking one gabapentin and 1/2 of a nuvigil a day, just to see if it made any difference in the weight area. He told me not to lower it any more. I also mentioned that I am going to Florida next week and will try walking every day as they have a very nice walking path. If after two weeks it seems to help with the weight then I might need to get my butt in gear. It will just be a matter of experimenting to see what works if anything. He mentioned weight gain is a part of fibro but we also are going to test my thyroid but will do that when I return from Florida.
Yes, I have gained weight, I'm sure it's the combination of medication and being less mobile then before. Fibro really plays a number on our bodies, it's really hard sometimes. Just hang in there, and try to take walks everyday if you can, it might help. Stay positive, gentle hugs 🤗 God bless
I have also gained weight and plan on talking to my doctor tomorrow. That is if the snow isn't so deep that I have to cancel.
i have four tumors on my thyroid so it is not allowing me to lose the weight but i am not gaining any either ! i do believe gabapentin does cause weight gain in some it might be a combination of all the drugs put together ! just like me i complained about dry mouth for a few years , i kept telling my DR about it no response, i even talked to the pharmacy about it he said biotin would not help ,well i lost all my upper teeth and almost all my lower teeth ! so what works for one my not be the same for others !love peace joy and prayers i send to all , Always michele
Oh yes. I put on 80lb! I've been struggling to get it off. I talked to my doctor about coming off some of my meds. He agreed so now I take only what I must.
