Members overwhelmingly confirmed that memory loss, commonly known as fibro fog, is a widespread and frustrating symptom of fibromyalgia, with many describing forgetting conversations minutes after having them, losing track of items, blanking on words mid-sentence, and even struggling to recall childhood memories. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped, including keeping a notebook or journal, improving diet by reducing processed foods and sugar while increasing lean protein, and recognizing that symptoms often worsen during flare-ups or in hot weather. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of feeling embarrassed or misunderstood by others, balanced by the community's warmth, humor, and mutual reassurance that they are not alone in this challenging experience.

I was having really bad fibro fog for quite a long time but have been changing my diet to be more natural, avoid chemical stuff and sugars, and make sure I'm getting enough lean protein. It has made a significant improvement in my memory and just feeling generally sharper. I hope this helps!

My son has this fibro even worse than me and he says he doesn't remember much about his childhood. That is sad for me because I went out of my way to make good memories for him. We had such a wonderful and special relationship and he can't remember a lot of it.

Yes, "fibro fog" can be a part of fibromyalgia. I experience it, too, as do many.
