Members opened up about the deeply frustrating, frightening, and embarrassing experiences of short-term memory loss, sharing examples like forgetting how to make tea, losing track of parked cars, and not remembering conversations or introductions just moments after they happened. Several members described practical coping strategies that help them manage daily life, including writing everything down immediately, using chalkboards and reminders around the house, placing items by the door to avoid forgetting them, repeating tasks aloud while walking, and taking supplements like vitamin D, magnesium, and B6 that some found helpful for brain fog. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of memory loss at any age, especially the embarrassment of explaining it to others and the fear that it might be something more serious, balanced by relief when doctors confirmed it was related to fibromyalgia, medications, or fatigue rather than early-onset Alzheimer's.

Hi Gwen, yeah it's a real pain, I forget the simplest of things, I also have to write things down or my daughter reminds me what I have to do or important dates lol xx

I have ADD as well, took strattera for a while that helped short term memory. Now on Nuvigil and that's working well enough to keep my job .

I so understand. If I'm going into another room to get something, I keep repeating what it is over and over as I walk to get it !

Short term memory loss makes me run back and forth because I can't remember what I was doing.
