Which diets have worked for you? Which hasn't helped? I eat relatively healthy but considering eating better. Obviously cost and convience impact choices often.
I found that eating as clean as my pocket will allow works best for me. Foods dont always have to be organic but not consuming processed foods is key for me. Its a rule that my family not shop in the freezer section except for Breyers ice cream, of course lol also no canned or boxed prepared foods. Make your own hamburger helper meals. Not to say I won't occasionally enjoy some junk food. Triggers are white flour, sugars, dairy, processed. I also only use extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil or safflower. Coconut is very good for inflammation. Since i changed oil consumption my cholesterol levels have leveled out to normal. I also found that I have an allergy to soy (which is really bad for you anyway), peanuts, hazelnuts, almonds (which are really good for you) and barley. Finding out if you have any allergies is important. My allergies affected me by causing gut inflammation and therefor causing pain in my ribs. Also make sure your gut is not "leaky". One more thing....if you can spend the money try to get your meats as clean as possible. No growth hormones or antibiotics. Its not easy. Best of luck!!
I'm gluten free (do to celiac disease) I don't eat processed food unless necessary to do so and I eat plant based 99.9% od the time and can't say that it's helped at all I've been living like this for most of my life and was just told fibro in October
I was put on an elimination diet, I couldn't eat gluten, soy, processed meats, beef, pork, corn, dairy, eggs, chocolate, coffee, tea I'm sure I forgot a few. Doing this did absolutely nothing, it didn't help my fibro or my IBS, in fact it made my stomach worse.
I've found gluten free n sugar free has helped a lot. Sugar free isn't very fun though
I eat healthy because I'm diabetic but I haven't noticed a difference since we changed my diet to 60 carbs a meal
