Yes. It almost landed me in the ER due to my throat closing. Now I have deactivated ebv attacking my CNS.
I had mono right before senior high school year, secondary throat infection and anemia that winter. I almost didn't graduate, for absenteeism.
It's one of the contributing factors to this condition-I do believe-plus emotional issues, depression, trauma, injuries, chronic stress.
Yes I had mono (Epstein Barre virus) when I was 19. I had been in northern Canada at a lodge and had many mosquito bites. When I got home, I developed a fever of 103 and was taken to hospital. Within a couple of weeks they did a trakeostomy (hole in the throat) and put me on a respirator. I was later diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome and became completely paralysed. I learned to walk again and was in hospital for 4 mo. I recovered quickly after that and was married when I was 22.
My uncle recently died from GBS. After getting a flu shot. Took a year. So sorry to hear your struggles. Keep strong.
I had the Epstein Barre virus before I became paralysed with Gullain Barre Syndrome when I was 19. I was on a respirator for two weeks and then had to learn to walk again.I was in hospital for 4 mo. It's not supposed to be hereditary, but my daughter also had GBS when she was 23. Both of us recovered but both of us now have Fibromyalgia. My 18 year old granddaughter has it too and suffers with a lot of pain.
