Members opened up about how fibromyalgia profoundly affects their focus and memory, describing experiences that range from forgetting words mid-conversation to being unable to recall why they walked into a room, with many relying on sticky notes, lists, and phone reminders just to get through daily tasks. Several members shared that fibro fog worsens after intense flares or poor sleep, sometimes leaving them unable to spell words they once knew easily or follow a TV show, and a few noted the deep embarrassment and frustration of appearing forgetful or incoherent to others who don't understand the condition. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of losing cognitive sharpness, with members describing feelings of stupidity, constant apologies, and the loneliness of having an invisible struggle that others dismiss or misunderstand.

Yes fibro fog is horrible. Lack of restorative sleep from the FM has caused me to mix up words when speaking, forget things, horrible memory etc.
