I was wondering about getting a flu shot since or not.. does anyone know if it will affect my fibromyalgia in a negative way or if it is a good idea?

Members overwhelmingly encouraged getting a flu shot when someone with fibromyalgia asked whether it would negatively affect their condition, with the consensus being that the mild and temporary side effects (like arm soreness or a brief flare) are far better than experiencing the flu itself, which can intensify fibromyalgia pain and brain fog significantly. Several members shared that they've been getting flu shots for years without issues, and some also recommended the pneumonia and shingles vaccines, while others suggested checking vitamin D and magnesium levels as additional ways to manage pain and inflammation. A recurring theme was that protecting yourself from illness is essential when living with a compromised immune system or chronic pain, as getting sick can make fibromyalgia symptoms much worse and recovery take longer.

Flu shot definitely helps me. Means I don't get the flu so avoid the pain associated with the flu :)

I do. Yes I suffer from a flare for weeks afterwards, but it is so much better then getting the flu.

I get no side effects from a flu shot, and it is better than the flu.
