After seeing several doctors and specialists I found a functional doctor, you would think ALL doctors were "functional" They have a different way of approaching illness. My doctor put me on an elimination diet, it's going to be hard to follow but if it works it will be well worth it. Here are some of the things I have to eliminate. Corn, dairy, eggs, gluten, white sugar, shellfish, soy, beef, pork, processed meats, chocolate.

Has anyone gone on an elimination diet and did it help?

Members offered mixed experiences with elimination diets for fibromyalgia and IBS, with some finding significant relief through removing gluten, dairy, and processed foods while others saw no improvement despite strict adherence. Several members shared practical tips including drinking fresh celery and cucumber juice, using turmeric root tea, keeping non-dairy snacks like almond butter and oat crackers on hand, and the importance of following the diet strictly without cheating to give it a fair chance. A recurring theme was cautious optimism tempered with realistic expectations, as members emphasized that dietary changes work differently for everyone and require commitment, patience, and working closely with a functional medicine doctor to identify individual triggers.
