I have struggled with severe bloating since i could remember. I bloated when i was 92 lbs and still bloat now that I am 160 lbs. At 160, the additional bloating makes me hate my body and due to fibromyalgia pain and sensory issues- I literally cannot wear 80% of my clothing for a whole day before crashing out. I am getting married in August and really wanna solve my bloating issue at the least. Internet suggests elimination diet to try and determine bloating triggers.

I went on all organic diet to improve things and it eliminated most of my brain fog, I no longer have heart burn and I lost a tremendous amount of weight and I'm older. It took me awhile to get used to it but now I prefer it. My recommendation is to read how your diet affects fibromyalgia and make your own decisions. You can ai how diet effects fibromyalgia. πŸ’œπŸ’—β€οΈ

First of all, congratulations on your upcoming wedding! πŸŽ‰ It makes complete sense that you want to feel as comfortable as possible in your body on that special day β€” and honestly, every day.

Yes, many MyFibroTeam members have explored elimination diets to help manage bloating and other symptoms. The sensory issues and clothing sensitivity you're describing are very real and very common with fibromyalgia, so finding your triggers could make a meaningful difference. Some common foods that MyFibroTeam members have eliminated to reduce bloating and improve symptoms include:

- Gluten β€” research has found an overlap between fibromyalgia and gluten intolerance
- Dairy
- Soy
- Corn
- Refined sugar
- Nightshades (tomatoes, peppers, eggplant)
- Processed and packaged foods

One MyFibroTeam member even identified Diet Coke as a major trigger for their fibro symptoms. An anti-inflammatory diet is also worth exploring, as fibromyalgia has a significant inflammation component. Focusing on whole, minimally processed foods and plenty of fruits and vegetables may help reduce bloating over time.

It's also worth asking your doctor for a blood test to check for nutrient deficiencies, which are common with fibromyalgia and can affect how your body functions overall. A few practical tips for starting an elimination diet safely:

- Go slow β€” eliminate one food group at a time so you can clearly identify triggers
- Keep a food diary β€” track what you eat and how you feel each day
- Give it time β€” allow at least 2–4 weeks per elimination to notice changes
- Work with your doctor or a dietitian β€” they can help ensure you're still getting proper nutrition

With August in mind, starting sooner rather than later gives your body the best chance to respond. You deserve to feel comfortable and confident on your big day! πŸ’›
