During my flareup, which lead up to my diagnosis, my skin was hypersensitive to any type of touch, even clothing. If anything touched my skin in the lightest way, I would feel itchy. Fortunately, I do have a good dermatologist who is helping me with my skin related issues. I wasn't sure if anyone else has this problem.

Members strongly related to experiencing hypersensitive skin during flareups, with many describing how even light touches from clothing can cause intense itching, pain, or irritation, a condition one member identified as allodynia. Several members shared that doctors explained the sensitivity as nerve-related, though some felt dismissed or misunderstood when raising these concerns with medical providers. A recurring theme was the relief of knowing others share this frustrating symptom and the emotional toll of feeling isolated in the experience, with members finding comfort in the community's validation.

In the beginning I was ultra sensitive. I have adjusted now.

I am so ultra sensitive to ANYTHING that touches me.If someone comes up to me and slaps me on the back, I feel like they're kicked me in the spine. They'r mortified when I react as though they have. Some people just don't get it. The only GOOD thing is that I'm also ultra sensitive to pleasure, too :)

During bad flares I can feel everything that touches my skin. Sometimes it hurts and sometimes it just irritates me like a tiny annoyance you can't quite get rid of no matter how hard you try. Of all my symptoms, it is the one that will make me grumpy the fastest for some reason.
