Hand Pain-muscular Not Joint Related
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am a freshman in college, writing a lot and it gets so painful! I can't write for more than a minuet before I feel a super intense burning/cramping in the muscle between my thumb and pointer finger and it's goes down my arm. It really sucks. It's a newer symptom. Anything Suggestions of what I can do that could help it would be great

Wish I could help, but knowing the pain I sympathise with you. Whatever I do with my hands such as writing, using computer, even using my tablet all of my hand hurts and cramps up. Sounds daft but I find running my hand under warm water helps as my hand actually !ocks up especially if they have got cold again daft but during the winter I wear gloves to bed to keep them warm. No our house isn't cold just with poor circulation as well. It helps don't laugh even wear woolly socks to bed as I have neuropathy as well in my feet if they get cold I get more pain can't win !!!!

I have had that exactly same pain for years now. Nothing seems to help me except to not use it. I can get it from writing and being on the computer but even everyday things, setting the table. Hope you find some help for it sweetie, take care and God bless.

If you're referring to note taking in class, do what I did, I recorded all my lectures. That way I only had to write key terms and points. Plus it gives you the added bonus of listening back over them to verify points. You can also voice record your own thoughts when at home to be typed later. Gentle hugs x

Look up hand and arm stretches. Rest it as much as you can. Ice and aspirin to reduce inflammation. Avoid other activities that use fine hand work
