I knew i had it for a long time with having friends that have it i could relate to everything they was going through pain wise, fatigue, not sleeping, ect ect ect... it took me a long time to get a dr that would listen to me as was being fobbed off by others.!!! I even had a friend ask me if i had it due to how i was.!!
I didn't know what I had. I went to many doctors. I had the worst flu I had ever had. I couldn't walk across the floor. Most doctors didn't believe I was really ill because the tests all came back negative. Finally after many tests, one doctor's said, I BELIEVE YOU. I cried. He said I am not sure what you have yet but I truely believe you are ill. He finally sent me to a specialist doctor who confirmed I had fibromyalgia. It was so amazing that someone finally believed me and found the problem.
My friends kept telling me but I didn't think I did. I was going to see a rheumatologist on the 22nd April 2016, and I watched a programme on TV the night before about medical mysterys, the guy on there was describing his symptoms and problems. He could have been talking about me, the way it all started, the fact he got one symptom after another, the medication he tried and that didn't help. I didn't say anything while watching it with my mum, and at the end she turned to me and said so tomorrow you'll finally be diagnosed after 14 months of suffering. The next day I was.
Like you I've suffered with pains widespread for a long time for well over a year if not longer, but Drs kept fobbing me off all the time had telling me to go for a brisk walk :-/ thankfully i got in to see this one specific dr he's so hard to see because he's such a good dr and he diagnosed me told him i sick of talking to myself with nobody listening to me
My arms stated hurting thought I pulled a muscle. When the pain was worse instead of better I made an appointment with my doctor and after asking me some questions she said I had Fibro. However I may have it earlier and thought it was something else especially since I already had my arthritis.
I have recently been diagnosed always felt tired pain constant in my legs caused by a crushed vertebrae in my back causing sciatica but now pain has spread to every part of my body so have seen rheumatologist and has diagnosed another to add to my list of many health problems seems to have got worse since start of menopause.
