Members shared numerous practical strategies for managing dry mouth, with Biotene products (toothpaste, mouthwash, gum, and spray) being the most frequently recommended solution, with several members noting significant improvements in both comfort and dental health. Many members also found relief through sugar-free hard candies, mints, gum (especially Orbit sugarless bubble gum), ice chips, fruit popsicles, and carrying water bottles everywhere they go. A recurring theme was the understanding that dry mouth often stems from medications or underlying conditions like fibromyalgia, with members expressing curiosity about whether dehydration or the body's water processing plays a role, while also sharing the real challenges of tongues sticking to the roof of the mouth and throats closing up when speaking.

I keep a small tin of mints with me all the time. Especially if I know I have to speak as my mouth gets so dry my tongue will stick to the roof of my mouth, my throat will close up and it can get quite painful.

Yes yes.. I've had it for years.. Try Biotene mouthwash and toothpaste. It's made for dry mouth. They even make gum and mouth spray. Ps you can find it at most drug stores and sometimes in grocery stores

I finally bought Biotene a week ago and it is helping. I use it twice a day. I had thrush about 3 years ago and ever since then my tongue is so sore. My doctor explained to me Friday that some people who get thrush once will find that their tongue is extremely sensitive after that. The Biotene seems to have helped that some too.
