Ah! The mucus is a give away. :) Yellow or green mucus is NOT normal for our illness. Neither is fever typically though something low grade can pop up now and then with chronic fatigue. Never over 100. Hope that helps. The Chinese watch the tongue by the way. You can google that one. It changes color and texture.
PS: get your flu shots. Even if it is the wrong guess, it still saves you from what is likely the worse bug in the world that killed thousands in Asia the season before and preps your immune system to make it easier to fight the ones heading our way. Not worth skipping.
I get rest. If I feel like I am getting sick, I get some rest a few hours is usually enough. If I start feeling better, I know its Fibro...if not..probably a cold or whetever
@ Jes01102015: Yes get your flu shot in October-early November. My allergist says it is really important for me to do it then so I get the antibodies fully in my system because I have mild asthma, sensiitive sinuses, and other issues. of course Please tell your boyfriend that it is very important for him to get his flu shot to protect you. Have you ever been tested for allergies? Allergies can come on suddenly at any age. I live in California and several of my allergens are going right now. I get allergy shots to help my body. The worst ones here are: weeds, pepper trees, dry mold (on dirt and leaves). One way to know that it is a cold is if your throat is sore in the AM due to post nasal drip, sinuses over and under your eyes are tender, etc. I do not have a sore throat normally, or stuffy, runny nose or sinus pain. It is one of my ways. I rarely get colds either. I have wet ones wipes in my car. I tend to use them when I come out of somewhere that people are coughing or sniffly. I make everyone use one who gets in my car. I then wipe down the steering wheel, inside door handle and knobs on things. I have done really well since practicing this in the fall and winter especially.
Jes, I swere I asked myself the same thing yesterday, and guess what it was "Fibro" I think I have just overdone it a bit. So hard to manage this stupid thing. Sometimes when you feel good , you just want to go go go, and my body slammed the door on me yesterday afternoon. Hope you feel better.
