OxyContin and oxycodone are very strong meds. Make sure you speak to your doctor about lowering them bit by bit.... It may not be easy, and the doctor will need to support you every bit of the way. Maybe there are other alternatives. I cannot suggest anything, but I manage my fibromyalgia with a variety of meds (fentanyl patches, lyrica etc). Some will say go the homeopathic treatment route such 5htp, but you need to free from certain medications, before you try.
Each person is unique and each fibromyalgia is unique to that person. We all have similar trigger points. Not one of us is the same. I'm sorry I cannot give a definitive answer. All I can say is research as much as possible. Make a pain diary, do you have any reactions to certain meds etc. Talk to the doctor at length and your occupational therapist from the pain clinic. Some gentle exercises could help too.
Take care and be gentle with yourself X
I feel that when we take strong meds, like the ones you take you get immunity with them. That is probably why they doesn't work anymore. I would try tO get my Dr. to alternate shots and less pain meds. Maybe weaning you a little at a time until you could take something a little lighter. Hope this helps. Hugs.
Numbness in my hands and feet is common. Lately when I wake both arms, hands, and my knee area are asleep. Ive not talked to my docs about numbness in years so I don't have any answers, just reassurance that it is kinda normal from what I've experienced and heard from others. My hands did this years ago and it was from carpel tunnel. So sometimes I think because our muscles are constantly in spasm that maybe it's causing the nerves to get pressed and causing temporary numbness. That's just what I feel is happening in my body. Again that's just me guessing.
Have you discussed this with your Dr. ? If not, please do so! I would also let my doctor know that this is affecting your ability to perform work duties.
Yes I get it in feet and hands. These last few months it has gotten worse and lasting longer. The research I've done on Fibromyalgia symptoms numbness is there. To make myself feel better I'm going to ask for appointment with a orthopedic Doctor to make sure nothing is wrong with my tendons And ligaments .
I want to be safe then sorry.
Hope we both can get answers
