@A MyFibroTeam Member you do not need an attorney most of the time. If you have all your paper work, doctors information, then all should be fine. You simply file online. You can also appeal online. One should file by themselves. If denied then they should appeal by themselves. I am not sure how many times one can appeal. The last resort would be an attorney. Too many people listen to their friends who are clueless. They hire an attorney right away. Not smart.

Don't start with an attorney. Go to the Social Security website and start filling out the paperwork online. Have all your information available such as all your doctors names and addresses, dates, diagnosis. You don't have to do this in a day. I took a couple of months to fill mine out because I was intimidated. Anyway, when your finished there is a link or something and you just send it off electronically.

I was denied and filed an appeal online (easy to do). You just follow the steps outlined.

I was then approved.

Just take matters into your own hands first, before you decided to hire an attorney. The attorney is only going to be doing the same steps and procedures as you would be doing.

Its not easy and takes a long time in most countries to get disability for fibro....took 3 yrs for the Canadian Military to finally give me the ok that PTSD causes fibro....and a long explanation letter from my pain Doctor....I cant believe you need to get a lawyer and see a judge....thats expensive and ridiculous....gh
