Hello has anyone experienced any of these feelings before and know what it is and causes and treatments?
My scalp started off occasionally itching and burning at first I thought it was just because of my Fibro and thought it was just clogged hair follicles and my hair would even hurt some days. Like really hurt just my scalp and hair, if I touched it, moved my head too fast which would make my hair move or even brush it. Now lately it has been occurring a lot more often and I can not bare it some days. Now I have been getting scabs and sores through out my scalp on top of the burning itchy feeling. What causes this? Does anyone else with Fibro get this? Before my Fibro diagnosis they thought I had lupus and a friend of mine that has Lupus says she has experienced this and I just wanted to know if anyone else has that has Fibro or if only Lupus patients feel this so I can let my team of Dr's know. Please let me know your thought's it would be greatly appreciated.
I've been getting "flare ups" on my scalp about once a year for the past few years. I went to a dermatologist who did a scrape test and he couldn't figure out what was wrong. It just had regular bacteria on it, but nothing unusual. I'll get these little head sores every once in a while, but a "flare up" is when every single follicle on my head feels like it's infected. I get sores all over my scalp that puss and ooze and itch like you cannot imagine, then they scab over. At this time, I'll get huge lymph nodes as well. Nothing has worked to fix it, though Head and Shoulders helps keep the flare ups from happening most of the time. I have found that when i take antibiotics for something then quit them, the big flare ups tend to happen right after. As if they kill the good bacteria and pave the way for bad stuff to take over. For the record, I don't THINK i have fibro. I've never had anything I'd consider fibro related before, but my mom most definitely has it. So now I'm wondering if maybe I have it too and this is just how it's taking form for me. I'm going to try to go to the doctor again because I'm in agony right now and desperately need some relief.
Mine feels hot itchy & if i have something moving in my hair & it feels very static.
Driving me mad. X
I get it too. I just had a fibro flare and my scalp is driving me mad. Just remembered that a year ago, when we went to Cuba, I told my girlfriend that my scalp was bad. She replied that the salt water would do me good. I think just the sun and relaxation helped.
Mine gets so bad it bleeds .. not always this bad but when I flare it gets like this I was just doing a search of what it could be and I had no idea fibro could be causing any of this?!?
If your hair is falling out, have your thyroid checked, Dianne. That is a symptom of under-active thyroid as is dry skin.
My hair is cut very, very short now (like a buzz cut). Couldn't stand messing with it anymore. And it's falling out. The other day I bought some Head & Shoulders shampoo, the kind for dandruff and itchy scalp. so far, so good!
Great šš» idea
Iām going to try this
I have this has too. Are there any other tips to getting rid of them should I stop using conditioner?
I still think this scalp condition is an autoimmune reaction connected with fibromyalgia. I, too, thought it was hair dye, but I dye my hair about every six weeks and the condition does not go away. The itching makes me crazy, and then my scalp breaks out in bumps, which then scab over. That apparently is folliculitis. I am going to try the coconut oil.
Hi. I also have sores, scabs, Itchy and sore scalp. I have only been informed of having Fibro, so I not sure what Areas of pain or if indeed my scalp issues are related. I'm still really confused as my doctors don't really dont seem to have a clue. They give me lotion couple months ago with a steroid in it but it doesn't seem to work
