Members discussed their experiences with pregabalin for fibromyalgia and nerve pain, with many describing side effects including severe memory problems, dangerous involuntary twitching that caused injuries, extreme fatigue, and blurry vision, while several members found the medication did not relieve their pain at all. Many community members shared that switching from pregabalin to gabapentin significantly reduced the fog and fatigue, though they cautioned that gabapentin can take up to two weeks to fully take effect and some members still experienced similar side effects even on the alternative medication. A recurring theme was the frustration of needing multiple medications just to function daily, the difficulty distinguishing between medication side effects and worsening symptoms, and the importance of immediately reporting severe reactions to a doctor and advocating for a medication change when side effects become dangerous or intolerable.

Ask for gabapentin Hun you seem to be having a reaction to pregabalin. Just stop taking them and ask to swap over,
The two tablets are the same but if one doesn't work properly then the other is advised instead.. I had a similar bad reaction to pregabalin and I've now been much better on gabapentin x

Omw!!! That's a list and half....I'm sad that we need these pills just to make it through the day..if I forget my pills within hours I'm in terrible pain that makes my normal pain on them seem like I'm overreacting...

Big hugs to all my fibro family..you made such a difference to my life and made acceptance easier ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

They cover themselves hubby saying it can take weeks to work ... It's not always the case, when I swapped them over I noticed things changing over a week, I am on a lot of other meds (too many to list now) but you can ask for co-codamol, tramadol and even diazepam for instant relief while you await the effect of gabapentin xx

@A MyFibroTeam Member I know you're in a lot of pain but until the medicine works (fingers crossed) the more stressed, panicked, upset, anxious you are...the worse the pain will be. I know it seems impossible to relax right now but if you have an iPod or something you can listen to relaxing music. Or if you have a smartphone, download an app that will help you relax by breathing exercises, music, mindful meditation...something! You might be more comfortable. If you're able to do any Yoga, that might help too. I know you're thinking I'm nuts but I'm only trying to help. These things really do help. XX
