Kaplan, LA

Anyone else have that electric shock feeling that goes down both arms? And if so, what do you take? When this happens my hands get weak.

Members connected over the unsettling electric shock sensations in their arms and hands, with many describing triggers like tight muscles in the upper back, neck, and shoulders, along with accompanying symptoms such as swelling, trembling, and weakness. Several members shared practical relief strategies including warm compresses or hot water bottles, hand and arm massage, medications like Primidone for tremors and Lyrica for nerve symptoms, and checking for underlying conditions such as neuropathy, carpal tunnel, or circulation issues. A recurring theme was understanding these sensations as a central nervous system reaction common in fibromyalgia, where the brain sends mixed signals to the nerves, leaving members to balance management strategies while navigating frustrating and sometimes frightening symptoms.

I asked my neuro and he said it's the Fibro. If I understood him right, it's caused by the Central Nervous System in the brain sending mixed up messages to the nerves in the spine which branches out to the arms and hands, if that makes sense. I woke up this morning and it's really bad.

When I was really ill I had what I called BB's rolling in my blood. Someone else described it as like a cell phone vibrating in his bloodstream. It isn't really painful just very annoying. But I have Lyme disease as well as fibro.

Get this frequently. Just our central nervous system in over-drive. I just let it pass if possible. Otherwise, the only alternative is Lyrica. I refuse this medication because of the side effects.
