fog

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Waco, TX

I'm on lyrica and I'm experiencing an extreme amount of forgetfulness and just a real bad fog. Has anyone else experienced this and if so do you think it's just a flare up of my fibro? I s just recently diagnosed so I don't know very much yet.

Members overwhelmingly confirmed that brain fog and forgetfulness are common experiences both as symptoms of fibromyalgia itself and as side effects of Lyrica, with many sharing frustrating moments like forgetting simple words, misplacing items they were looking at, or giving up on shopping trips entirely. Several members mentioned that switching medications (such as from Lyrica to Cymbalta) or talking to a doctor helped address worsening cognitive issues, while others noted that Abilify and other medications can also contribute to memory problems. A recurring theme was the relief of knowing they weren't alone or losing their minds, with the community offering warm reassurance that fibro fog is real, frustrating, but manageable with patience and support.

I was on Lyrica for a long time and got strange side effects all of a sudden. I was switched to Cymbalta. I get that brain fog often and hate it. I forget words all the time and when I shop I forget what I want to point I give up and go home. I do know Lyrica had many side effects not posted and new ones all the time.

I am going through a flare right now and got so upset last night that I couldn't remember where my medicine was.....I didn't sleep all night for worrying where I had put it. I get out of bed this morning and find it exactly where I had left it on the table beside my recliner. I looked there last night and didn't "see" it. So darn frustrating! Tomorrow will be better...Hugs
