Members rallied around someone whose rheumatologist questioned their fibromyalgia diagnosis due to the absence of hip tender points, with the overwhelming consensus being that tender point patterns vary widely among individuals and pain often migrates from day to day. Several members shared their own experiences with fluctuating symptoms, negative test results despite visible joint damage during scoping procedures, and the challenge of finding doctors who truly understand fibromyalgia beyond outdated diagnostic criteria. A recurring theme was the importance of seeking out knowledgeable providers who stay current with research, the value of ruling out other conditions like lupus or MS through thorough testing, and the reassurance that fibromyalgia is real and valid even when it doesn't present in textbook ways.

Everybodys tenderpoints are different and not everybody has all 18 I do but not every single day so denying that its fibromyalgia for not having one tender point is stupid

Thank you lea Marie I have had mri over most of my body All major joints except hips as I never have hip pain The Mir findings are negative but I have been scoped on shoulders and knees and they find arthritis worn cartilage and the joint to be red so I don't know what it is I've had repeated blood tests all negative except anemia and vitamin d deficiency

@A MyFibroTeam Member I agree with you. I have all 18 tender points but I don't hurt in all 18 spots every day. The pain jumps around. Some good days, where I want to be active and other bad days where I feel like I have the flu and just want to rest all day. My family is coming around and understanding more. I'm thankful for that. Just take one day at a time...that's all we can do.

Walking becomes more and more difficult. After 7 years of successful treatment I need to use my electric scooter when I leave the house. Most of the other symptoms are under control but the coordination and stamina for walking have not recovered. I'm glad I did all of my backpacking when I was younger.
