Members opened up about experiencing seizure-like symptoms with fibromyalgia, describing episodes of uncontrollable shaking, temporary paralysis, and feeling unable to move or speak, often dismissed by doctors despite multiple EEGs and tests showing no epilepsy. Several members shared possible contributing factors including medication timing (particularly pain patches like fentanyl), clonus (involuntary muscle contractions), migraines, and orthostatic issues that trigger spasms and loss of consciousness. A recurring theme was the frustration of symptoms being minimized or misunderstood by the medical community, leaving members feeling dismissed and concerned about potential lasting neurological harm.

@A MyFibroTeam Member that's been happening to me for years I never thought of it as a seizure I always thought as the type of migraine. I know it's really scary it was awful because you can't move it's like you're being held down or something

Yes, I have non epileptic seizures all the time. No one takes them seriously, even though they do harm me. I think it's another wrong assumption by the medical community. It's extremely frustrating because I think it's causing me lasting harm to my CNS.
