Has a specific diet helped your symptoms? What about supplements? Is there any correlation to processed foods or gluten intolerance?
I know there is no "easy" pill or say to make things better, but I'm looking into different lifestyle changes that may reduce my flare ups and help me be able to function.
I started the Paleo diet 3 months ago and have noticed an increase in my energy, for sure, and some weight loss (finally!). I also have been gluten-free for the past year and have noticed some decrease in inflammation. I also take lots of supplements, but the best ones for the fibro are: magnesium, probiotics, Vit. D and an energy supplement (that uses Green Tea as the energy-booster). Go to Shaklee.com Best supplements as far as testing and purity and company is green. Worth the extra few bucks on price!
I have eliminated gluten, beans , milk, and legumes for 30 days with two weeks to go. I have been gluten-free for over a year now with good results.
Also I take supplements probiotics, high doses of vitamin D (5000 IU), DHEA for stress, kelp tablets for iodine for thyroid funtion.
Meats, fruits and vegetables with the exception of night shades (tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, and eggplant).
@A MyFibroTeam Member, what do you eat?
I have had fibro for 8 years now. No medication has helped, just made it okay to hurt. I'm not on any rx right now. I did adjust my diet drastically. No gluten, milk, sugar (refined or artificial), beans and legumes, seeds, soy and rice. In addition I take supplements, vitamin D, C, B complex, probiotics, CoQ10 and flax oil.
I'm feeling better but will be on this for another 2 weeks then slowly reintroduce things back in.
I keep finding it's all about the gut.
