Past 3-4 weeks I've been getting cramps in my pelvic and stomachache area that go and come. Sometimes after a bowel movement I feel fine sometimes after a few hours sleeping on heat pad and meds I feel fine. I've heard irritable bowel movement is an issue with fibromyalgia. Are these cramps signs of irritable bowel movement?

I have been diagnosed with IBS ..i get cramps in my lower stomach and pelvic area. This pain is usually relieved after going to thr bathroom, other times i use heat. Certain foods, anxiety, etc are usually the culprit. Other IBS symptoms can include bloating, gas, nausea, constipation, diarrhea. If you have a lot of these symptoms i would schedule an appt with a gasteoenterologist to be sure.

They could be. IBS is very common in fibromyalgia. I have suffered with it all of my life. I recommend using fiber (I use Metamucil). Also check for allergies, especially dairy and gluten. I also use probiotics and digestive enzymes that help me. Good luck and God bless.

My son-in-law was told he had IBS= they were so wrong he has Ceoliac disease and if treated for IBS it makes the situation worse. insist on being checked thoroughly, some doctors once they have a diagnosis stop at that and treat it and make matters worse.

I have IBS I think and how I help it is I eat porridge I make porridge with Oat bran and some natural bran and some Oat meal and Flaxs seed meal as well as chopped up apple. It helps eating fiber. I don't have as much trouble with the IBS when I eat that. Also it helps to eat good food. But sometimes I get bloating and gas and I have read that is when I'm kind of allergic to what I have ate. So I have sensitivities to different foods. I know I do better with chicken or fish and that red meat bothers me. I do sometimes have diarrhea. If I don't eat my porridge I can get constipated and I usually do. Eating Pizza usually bothers me and I get diarrhea from it. I seem to tolerate eating vegetables.
