Members confirmed that fibromyalgia can indeed cause stomach cramps, with many sharing that irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) often accompanies fibro, leading to gas, bloating, and difficulty eating. Several members offered practical relief strategies, including walking, peppermint oil, Buscopan for severe cramps, deep breathing exercises that involve pushing the stomach out on inhale and pulling it in on exhale, and checking medications with a pharmacist for side effects. A recurring theme was that digestive issues are a widespread and frustrating part of living with fibromyalgia, but small interventions can make a meaningful difference in comfort.

It’s the old belly bloat, lucky us! Food doesn’t digest well, stomach upset. Walking is the only thing that helps me…if the spasms in my gut are speaking up, I find peppermint oil (Amazon) is great.

And if the peppermint doesn’t work then I take Buscopan(don’t know what it is called in the USA) and these stop severe cramps in half an hour-brilliant natural remedy

I get a lot of upset stomach with a lot of gas but I am sure it is because of irritable bowel syndrome. It can be quite uncomfortable.
